Lwana Nqobile receives support through the Caring
Together project
Lwana Nqobile is a 15-year old orphan from Lusikisiki District,
Eastern Cape. Lwana lives with his Aunt, who had been unable to
secure a foster care grant for him.
They now receive support through the MSP-funded Caring Together
project, which provides school-based care to orphans and vulnerable
children across the province.
Lwana writes "I am getting the grant. Not only I, but many in my
school. We are preparing to open a bank account now in my name.
This is something great we achieved... Now my Aunt is not suffering
anymore because I don’t have parents. She can buy food to eat,
clothes, school uniform and also invest for me as to get better
education. At this point I am not going to stop schooling, for my
teachers and caregivers told us that if we drop schooling even the
foster care grant will be stopped."
