Welcome to the MSP HIV & AIDS Programme in South Africa

Intro

The Multi-sectoral HIV & AIDS Programme (MSP) was designed to reduce the number of new HIV infections and to mitigate the impact of HIV and AIDS in South Africa. The MSP is mananged by HLSP and funded by the UK Department for International Development.
The MSP aims to contribute to a strengthened South African response to HIV and AIDS, with support from the international community. Key projects have focused on civil society and public sector programmes that improve prevention, treatment, care and support, strengthening the South African health system and improving policy dialogue for vulnerable groups. In November 2008, the MSP entered a new phase as DFID sought to support the newly appointed Minister of Health, Barbara Hogan. This Rapid Response Health Fund is designed to provide rapid and flexible support to assist the minister in reorienting South Africa's response to HIV and AIDS and revitalising health services.

Over the past 20 years HLSP has established itself as a leading provider of technical assistance and consulting services in the health sector, focusing on the creation and sustainability of quality health systems and services.
